Customer Re-Engagement Script for Pressure & Soft Washing Companies
You already paid to acquire the customer.
You already earned their trust.
You already know where they live, what services they purchased, and that they were willing to pay for professional exterior cleaning.
So before spending more money trying to find another new customer, go back to the customers who already know you.
A simple re-engagement campaign can help pressure washing and soft washing companies generate repeat work from customers they haven't spoken to in months—or even years.
The key is not making the message feel like a desperate sales pitch.
Keep it personal, helpful, and easy to respond to.
Copy-and-Paste Re-Engagement Email
Subject: Is it time to get your property cleaned again?
Hi [First Name],
This is [Your Name] with [Company Name].
We were going through some of our past customers and realized it's been a while since we cleaned your property.
I wanted to personally reach out and see how everything has been looking.
Depending on the property and surrounding environment, exterior surfaces can start accumulating organic growth, dirt, algae, and other buildup again over time.
If you'd like, we'd be happy to take a look and let you know what—if anything—could use attention.
Some of the services we can help with include:
House washing
Roof cleaning
Driveway and concrete cleaning
Patio cleaning
Deck and fence cleaning
Gutter cleaning
Commercial exterior cleaning
There's absolutely no obligation.
Just reply to this email with “QUOTE” and we'll help you figure out what you may need.
And if everything still looks great, that's good news too!
Thanks again for trusting us with your property in the past.

Short Text Message Version
Hi [First Name], this is [Your Name] from [Company Name]. We cleaned your property in the past and wanted to check in to see how everything is looking. If you'd like us to take a look at the house, roof, concrete, or anything else outside, just reply QUOTE and we'll be happy to help.
A Stronger 3-Message Re-Engagement Campaign
One message is good.
A short follow-up sequence is better.
Message #1 — Check In
Hi [First Name], this is [Your Name] from [Company Name]. It's been a while since we cleaned your property, so I wanted to check in and see how everything is looking. If there's anything outside that could use some attention, reply QUOTE and we'd be happy to help.
Message #2 — Send 3–5 Days Later
Hi [First Name], just following up on my message from the other day.
One thing we always recommend our past customers do is take a quick walk around the property and check the north-facing sides, shaded areas, roof, concrete, and gutters.
Those are usually some of the first areas where buildup starts showing again.
If you'd like us to take a look, just reply QUOTE.
— [Your Name], [Company Name]
Message #3 — Send 7–10 Days Later
Hi [First Name], last message from me!
I wanted to make sure you knew we're here if you need anything cleaned around the property this season.
House washing, roofs, concrete, patios, decks, fences, gutters—we'd be happy to help.
If everything still looks great, no worries at all.
If you'd like an estimate, reply QUOTE and we'll take care of the rest.
Thanks again for being a past customer!

Want Better Results? Personalize It.
The more specific you can make the message, the better.
Instead of:
“We cleaned your property before.”
Try:
“We washed your house and driveway last spring.”
Or:
“It's been about two years since we cleaned your roof.”
That immediately makes the message feel like it came from a real company that remembers the customer instead of a mass marketing campaign.
Segment Your Customer List
Don't send the exact same message to everyone if you have the information available.
Create lists such as:
Past House Wash Customers
“It's been a while since we washed the exterior of your home…”
Past Roof Cleaning Customers
“We wanted to check in and see how your roof has been looking since we cleaned it…”
Past Concrete Customers
“Have you noticed your driveway or sidewalks starting to darken again?”
Past Commercial Customers
“We're putting together our exterior maintenance schedule and wanted to see if you'd like us to inspect the property again.”
The more relevant the message is, the less it feels like advertising.
Don't Lead With A Discount
One of the biggest mistakes contractors make when trying to reactivate customers is immediately saying:
“10% OFF!”
You don't necessarily need to discount your work.
Your previous customer already knows you.
Instead, lead with:
Convenience.
Trust.
Maintenance.
A reminder.
Solving their problem.
If you eventually need an incentive to get someone off the fence, you can use one.
But don't train your customers to wait for a coupon every time they need their property cleaned.
One More Simple Strategy
When you finish a job, don't let that customer disappear from your business.
Create a system to follow up with them automatically.
For example:
6 Months: Check-in message.
12 Months: Annual exterior cleaning reminder.
18 Months: Another property check-in.
24 Months: Strong reactivation campaign.
The best customer isn't always the next new lead.
Sometimes it's the customer sitting in your database who already trusts you.
The Bottom Line
If you have 500, 1,000, or 5,000 past customers sitting in your CRM, that's an asset.
Use it.
You don't have to pressure them.
You don't have to constantly discount.
Simply remind them that you're still there, provide value, and make it ridiculously easy to ask for help.
Your next week of work might already be sitting inside your customer list.
